Track Name: Cut Off My Branches
It's better when we're together (repeat)

Cut off my branches, ‘cause they’re all dead;

This cold winter has taken its toll.

Dry and dormant I am lying in my bed

And all I want to do is sleep.

It's better when we're together (repeat)

When I wake, it's all the same;

Struggling to make ends meet.

Lengthen the rope so I can go a few more feet

‘Cause I am tired of being here

It's better when we're together (repeat)

So-called community

Biting off the hand that feeds,

I'll use you and you'll keep on using me

And we'll see what these wild oats feed.

It's better when we're together (repeat)
Track Name: Civil War Inside
I was once my own, or so I thought

With that my eager eyes sought my wicked heart's desire
And I began to see through walls and walk through fire...

Little did my eyes and heart know,
There was only so far this useless body could go.
Wandering through the deserts, the pits, and the mire,

No more walls, only fire (repeat)

But all I know is this, and yet I long for what I miss.
Not knowing, not seeing, not feeling everything.

I can't hear you (repeat)

I was once my own, or so I brandished
Like a knife to anyone who came too close.
I am my own, I am my own

But there was only so far this useless body could go.

The civil war inside (repeat)
Track Name: To Be 10 Years Old and Undefeated
Figures drawn in pencil, sketched proudly alongside;
Words soon forgotten, the capital of MI
A monster with teeth bared, chomping on the OK state;
A giraffe with spots so fair, drinking from The Great Lakes

But when this graphite elephant stomps through the Midwest,
Do not fear; we'll set sail on a ship I built with markers of lemon scent.

And they cry, “Come back!"
They all cry, "Come back!"
They say.
"Come back!" they all cry, "Come back!"
Too late.

Across the Strait of Magellan colored a deep chartreuse
To a transatlantic pen-inked refuge;
My own Bermuda triangle, with four sides, where found
Native narwhals swimming laps
Round and round and round,

And they cry,
"Come back, you've come back, hooray!"
"Come back, you've come back, to stay!"

To be ten years old and undefeated, to stay in my head unimpeded.
Track Name: Prodigal Father
The morning broke, we were still asleep,
The dishes piled in the kitchen sink;
You were halfway to a better life.

Now we have dreams of our children
They won't be born to prodigal sons
They will never go to sleep, with the fear that we will leave
‘Cause they'll know we are happy where we are.

I wrote some words on a paper sheet
Wanted to tell you of our mother's grief,
Wanted to say that we are better off alone.

But I took a coward’s stance
And crumpled drafts of my weak laments,
You never showed me how to face my fears.

Now we have dreams of our children
They won't be born to prodigal sons
They will never go to sleep, with the fear that we will leave
‘Cause they'll know we are happy where we are.
Track Name: Bicycle Built For Two
I don't know what I did; I don't know what I did to deserve this. (repeat)

I know what you've heard, and I know what I deserve
But all the stones have fallen to the ground
And all that's left is me and you.

Me and you now, just me and you now (repeat)

I have mishandled this earthen vessel; I've made a home out of straw.
A strong northeasterly wind, or wolves ‘round the bend and there she blows.

Me and you now, just me and you now (repeat)

There's a break-up in my make-up, my heart is restless until it rests in you
I am not home on my own.
Who knew I was this bicycle built for two?

I don't know what I did; don't know what I did to deserve this. (repeat)

I know what I've heard, and I know what I deserve;
But these other loves are hard to put down,
And you seem too good to be true.
But is it really you?
See, I've been hurt before, and I don't want it anymore.
But is it really you?

You and me now, just you and me now (repeat)

I don't know what I did; don't know what I did to deserve this (repeat)
Track Name: Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of God's unchanging love.

Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
Hither by thy help I'm come;
And I hope, by thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed his precious blood.

You sought me, when I was wondering (repeat)

O, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, o, take and seal it,
Seal it for thy courts above.

Here’s my heart, oh take and seal it (repeat)

"Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" written by Robert Robinson, 1735-1790 Music by: Wyeth’s Repository of Sacred Music
Track Name: Strangers and Pilgrims
Strangers and pilgrims, I’ve made you a homeland
Make haste and follow the stars
By land or by sea, all hearts worn with wondering
Look up! We are going home.

Let the rhythm rock you to sleep tonight (repeat)

Close your eyes, rest your mind,
Your tired hearts will find sleep tonight.
